Abstract

This roundtable will examine this growth and the concomitant development of the professoriate. The specific research questions to be addressed include: What were the precipitating factors that contributed to the extension of academic adult education? What were the parameters and arguments over these parameters? What curricular decisions were made, and how do these decisions still affect current graduate adult education programs? What was the role of outside funding agencies? This will be an historical study using archival materials as well as contemporary printed documents.
