Cross-border Megers and Acquisitions by Emerging Economic MNCs: A Comparative Perspective

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

By applying and extending resource dependence theory (RDT), this book chapters comparatively examines major forces underlying cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&As) by emerging market multinationals (EMNCs) in developed and developing markets. We argue that the M&A logic of resource dependence provides a unique perspective in accounting for the overseas acquisitions by EMNCs, but the explanation is bounded by government effectiveness in a host country.
