Decolonizing practices for mental health: Moving BIPOC clients toward liberation and healing

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

Western forms of well-being that center on individual perspectives, ignore cultural dynamics, and fail to account for systemic forms of racism and oppression often fail to be effective strategies when working with BIPOC clients. Join Dr. Stacey Litam as she shows you how you can adopt new perspectives and take action to help decolonize mental health. Full of specific strategies, you’ll leave this session feeling empowered to use culturally embedded strategies to enhance self-nourishment and well-being in BIPOC clients.
