Development of mixing strategies using elements of elongational flow

Research output: Contribution to conferencePoster

Abstract

* Microfluidic systems are widely used in chemical and biological applications, due to their potential for large throughput, control over reaction variables, and reduced consumption of reactants. * Micromixers are essential components of microfluidic systems, accelerating the mixing of reactants undergoing laminar flow Re < 100. * In the proposed design, we utilized vortices and stretching in the flow, essential elements of mixing, by introducing hyperbolic constrictions in the simple serpentine mixer.
