Abstract
"Exploration and play are two of education's superfoods, but they are getting squeezed out of classrooms to make time for less-nourishing academic instruction. We'll learn the reasons and supporting research that illustrates why exploration and play are so beneficial for whole child development and how to better advocate for making them." 90-minute presentation including research on play, research on why reading research has been so misleading regarding the overall efficacy of contrasting educational approaches, and practical information about effective advocacy.
