The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest professional organization of special education teachers in North America and is the Specialized Professional Association (SPA) for special education teacher preparation accreditation. The Division of Career Development and Transition (DCDT) is a special interest group within CEC that focuses on individuals with disabilities transitioning to adulthood as well as adult services. The division's annual conference is the largest national conference to focus specifically on this unique population in the United States or Canada.
