Abstract
Each year, I do substantial rewrites of my free e-textbook for the Tax I course, available online to anyone in the world at the URL noted above, not only to update it for changes in law (new tax tables, inflation-adjusted figures for many items, statutory changes and changes in Treasury regulations, cases, and other guidance) but also to improve it for the user experience (both students and professors who use my book) after obtaining feedback from them. I take pride in translating difficult concepts for novice students of the area, and each year I find myself rewriting certain topics with that goal in mind.
