Abstract

I was invited through an adjudicated process to present my work Fragments of a Haunted Mind (premiere 2015) as part of a Split Bill Series. This four section work, originally set on 8 dancers, was essentially an exploration of the question "What are you haunted by ?". This led to discoveries around self-perception, grief, loss, disconnection, cognitive processing, etc. As it is standard in the dance field to have to submit a completed work for various festivals, I was thrilled when my work was selected for presentation in New York. I began the rehearsal process with a new cast of dancers and we were only about a month away from the concert when the series was unexpectedly canceled due to funding problems.
