Research output: Contribution to conferencePaper

Abstract

The paper explores how European remapping of the Middle East during the 20th century affects political and economic stability in the region. The paper is premised on the conjunction that geographical transformations caused by European colonial powers in the Middle East are among the main factors that promoted political fragmentation and prevent the creation of large-scale state frameworks for economic development and political stability in the region.
