Managing the Unmanageable: Muhammad III’s solution to fitna in Eighteenth Century Morocco

I organized a panel with four other scholars entitled “Political and Social Change in the Pre-Modern Islamic Maghrib” and obtained sponsorship from the American Institute of Maghrib Studies, the premiere organization for academic research in my area of research. The panel and my paper were accepted for presentation at the 2020 MESA annual meeting in Washington DC, however it is uncertain in what format the conference will be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which arose after I had arranged and submitted the panel for approval.
