Muslim-Paulician Encounters and Early Anti-Christian Polemical Writings

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

This article examines the way early Islamic sources present the Paulicians and analyze the religious implications of the cultural encounter between Islam and this group. Specifically, this study is an investigation of the role that certain aspects of Paulician doctrine played in Christian-Islamic polemical writings. The examination of this topic is very significant, especially since it never had the serious discussion it deserves.
