Abstract

The study follows the construction of the self and the development of writing skills of the young daughter of a migrant truck driver who had been a literature professor in Mexico. The woman starts working in fiction writing skills while incarcerated in a penitentiary located at the border between the United States and Mexico. Literary techniques and cultural approaches are considered such as the process of creative writing following the models of "On the Road," performance, team writing, political forces that push migration, and the formation of family-like groups for survival.
