Abstract
Cities have gradually adopted various connected technologies: unchecked smart cities become surveillance citiies which risk citizens' human rights including the right to privavy. This presentation will introduce participants to the concepts of data privacy and equity; discuss strategies to mitigate risks to privacy and increase equity; and introduce an innovative, fully prepared, interdisciplinary, free open access online course on data privacy and equity. A model social work syllabus mapped to the 2022 EPAS competencies will be shared as well as online reflection assignments.
