Abstract

Raman spectroscopic analysis of Chinese art, including many nephrite and jadeite (jade) artifacts, hand scrolls, hanging scrolls, ceremics, and jewelry, was presented in both public and private technical seminars. In addition, many of these artifacts were on display at The Galleries at CSU from October 4 to December 5, 2015. The data acquisition and analysis took approximately 9 months to prepare. The result was published in the collection catalog, produced and distributed as part of the gallery presentation. In addition, some of the Degenfelder artifacts with accompanying technical descriptions have remained on public display at several venues within Cleveland, including the Chop House restaurant complex at 824 West St Clair Ave. in Cleveland's historic Warehouse District.
