Abstract
Also during fall, winter, and spring 2016-17, I developed a PowerPoint on my findings regarding the Grasse River Railroad Trail prospect. Among other things, I identified the primary advantages, restoring public access to key natural and historical assets and scenic views. I also detailed the physical challenges, replacing several bridges, rehabilitating a few washed out culverts, and negotiating a couple of wetlands. In summer 2017 (25 July), I delivered the presentation, first to the state agency that oversees such outdoor initiatives, the New York Department of Environmental Conservation. I then (27 July) presented a less technical version to the main community concerned, Cranberry Lake, NY. It met with an enthusiastic response in both venues and represents a major undertaking both in terms of scholarship and service. A PDF copy is attached.
