The Political Ethics of Public Service

Political Ethics of Public Service is based on my thirty years of experience as a political scientist in the field of public administration. Specifically, Political Ethics of Public Service seeks to integrate the practice of democratic politics into public service ethics. Also, Political Ethics of Public Service provides a defense of democratic politics in public service ethics. Defending democratic politics in public service ethics is necessary. The reason is that an anti-political and problematic approach to public service ethics, which I call "the American way of ethics," currently prevails in the field of public administration. Therefore, Political Ethics of Public Service offers public servants a new and much needed approach to public service ethics than the anti-political American way of ethics extant.
