Abstract
Invited article (1,200 words) about the rise and fall of the "Chemical Shore" to the northeast of Cleveland. My article explores chemical industry investments in Lake and Ashtabula Counties in the context of postwar planning and boosterism and places the decline of "Chemical Shore" in the context of deindustrialization and environmental degradation.
