Abstract
"When The Mind's Free" is a joint production of the department of theare and the School of Film and Media Arts. It is the feature film version of a play by theatre professor, Toby Bercovici made in collaboration with myself and students from my advanced cinematography and production classes. The play was developed over a five-year period of improvisation and in conversation with Shakespeare’s King Lear, as well as in consultation with memory care organizations, caretakers, families, and individuals dealing with memory loss.
