Worked closely with Dean Sajit Zachariah, Interim Provost Jianping Zhu, Director Graham Stead, and Dr. Lee Wilberschied in laying out the groundwork for a track entitled “Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language” in CSU’s Ph.D. program in Urban Education within the College of Education and Human Services (CEHS). The proposal request was approved unanimously on April 14, 2016 by the CEHS doctoral studies committee with minor revisions of the submitted proposed Program of Study. Dr. Wang has also helped conduct extensive negotiations with Beijing Normal University in Beijing and East China Normal University in Shanghai, our partner universities in China, to confirm their collaboration in such a program and solidify their role in securing potential well-qualified student candidates from China, offering portions of the coursework, and exploring potential funding from local and global settings.
